Barb and Randy's Pledge Page
Barb and I will walk in the Bermuda Walk Marathon in November as participants of the Leukemia an Lymphoma Society's Southern Ohio Chapter Team in Training (TNT) and we ask for your help. Barb's dad died of cancer earlier this spring and even though his cancer was not blood-related, we have felt the need to take action so others will not have to suffer like him. Both of us have been looking to find focus for our lives, something meaningful and significant, to take us beyond our daily routines. TNT allows us to do this.
TNT is the #1 endurance training program in the country and raises millions of dollars each year to find a cure for leukemia. As a participant, we are required to raise $3900, times two for us. Obviously, we will need as many sponsors, like you, to support us. Check out their web site (www.teamintraining.org) to find about this program and to see that this group is serious about fund-raising!!! You will see in our "Stats" that our fund raising efforts are in full swing and our training continues, but we have a long way to go to surpass our financial goal and completing 26.2 marathon miles in less than 6 hours. To inspire us, we have a "Hero", an eight-year old boy named Derrick, from Dayton, OH. Derrick was diagnosed in 1999 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He is doing well today and we pray that he remains healthy. You can be assured that funds you contribute will help Derrick and other patients like him. Barb and I are asking everyone that we know, businesses, former classmates, friends and family to prayfully give to this effort. We are completely committed to our fund-raising goals but more importantly, to finishing the marathon for Derrick, Barb's dad, and all that are coping with life-threatening illnesses. If you wish to say "YES," we want to help, please click on "DONATE." Will you consider giving $10, or a per marathon mile donation of $1 or $2 per mile? We hope that you share in the need to find a cure. Thank you for your prayers and support. Visit our dairy to see our progress and please sign the guestbook while you are here! We hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Barb and Randy |
